How the desk works
Gielinor Alpha is a Grand Exchange opportunity marketplace. You compare live hunts, spend credits to unlock an allocation, then place the trade yourself in Old School RuneScape. Nothing is auto-executed in-game.
What you are looking at
The opportunity board publishes ranked GE opportunities as listings. Each card shows return on capital, expected profit, capital required, signal quality, timing, F2P or Members, and the credit price. Those figures are signals so you can compare hunts without seeing the item yet.
Item name, buy and sell GP, and quantity stay hidden until you Buy Now or win the bid. That keeps the board useful to everyone still deciding, and it keeps unlocked advice for the trader who paid for it.
Each listing is also a slice of a finite pool, because the Grand Exchange buy limit caps how much of an item anyone can absorb — why opportunities are scarce.
How recommendations are produced
Opportunities start from public Grand Exchange price and volume data. The pipeline scores items on spread, liquidity, hold time, buy-limit fit, and other features, then ranks them. Operators review what gets published — this is not an unattended dump of every noisy quote.
Signal quality is a compact score from that ranking, not a promise the offer will fill or that you will profit. Timing estimates (buy open, hold, sell open) are the same kind of signal: useful for planning a slot, not a clock you can sue.
Listings can refresh as the market moves. A hunt that looked clean an hour ago can thin out. Treat the board as a live desk, not a static tipsheet.
Credits, bids, and Buy Now
Credits are platform currency. You can claim a daily grant, redeem an invite, buy a pack, or — when enabled — watch an opt-in rewarded ad on Account. Credits unlock listings. They have no cash value and cannot be cashed out.
Buy Now spends credits immediately and unlocks the allocation. Bid competes on the same listing; if you are leading when the timer ends, you unlock. Either way you get the item, prices, and quantity to place on your own account.
You place every Grand Exchange offer
An allocation is advice for your OSRS (or, later, RS3) account. You open the GE, type the item, and set the offer. Gielinor Alpha never logs into the game, never clicks the GE for you, and never claims Jagex affiliation.
After you unlock, Allocations is the desk for tracking what you intended to buy or sell. That log is for you — it does not move gold in RuneScape.
FAQ
Why can't I see the item on the board? Masking keeps comparison on economics instead of a race to screenshot names. Unlock when a hunt fits your capital and time.
Do you guarantee profit? No. Markets gap, limits bind, and fills miss. Signal quality and expected profit are research outputs, not a payout.
Is this a bot or auto-trader? No. Manual placement only. If a page implied otherwise, that would be a bug — the terms say the same.
What about RS3? The RS3 desk is on the way. Same account and credits when it opens; hunt OSRS today.
Do you show Google display ads on these pages? No. Watch for credits on Account is the intended free path after Google approves the site — it is not approved yet. We do not run Auto ads or display units on the board.
